As a former student, I've seen some BS. I was tormented for a whole year because I'm not an effing hoodrat. They'd kick balls at my head in P.E, they'd follow me around calling me names, they'd steal my things and go through my bag. The teachers did jack eff about it.
At one point, my friend and I, two year 9 girls, had to be barricaded into the classroom by a reliever teacher, while a whole maybe three classrooms of seniors were stood outside the door trying to get to us from outside.
THIS SCHOOL LITERALLY TRAUMATIZED ME. I CANNOT LEAVE MY HOUSE ANYMORE.
And my little sister, A YEAR 7, recently got beat up by a year 9 or 10, FOR NO REASON. Simply because she WANTED to beat up a child.
I cannot stress this enough, please, do not send your children here.
Just your average school, It's not the worst, So that means it's good enough. There's a balance on the good and bad things in this school so it wasn't really that great but it wasn't that bad either.
aurora is a school where you get accepted for being who you want to be, and for who you are. So many people have came out bi/lesbian/pans/gay. Aurora has a bad reputation because we're known for fights smoking, vaping and etc even though there's plenty of other schools that do the same. To me aurora is like family we're there for each other, we build confidence. Strangers or not strangers you could go up to another and have a really nice conversation/ also ask them for something like food or a smoke I love aurora and theres nothing wrong with our school
It gets a bad rap by people who haven’t been their themselves because it’s one of the only schools that take in the kids that get kicked out of other schools but It’s a great school if your willing to learn, and you get highly rewarded by success. There’s free lunches, free stationary and books and cheap uniforms and free smiles 😂. Highly recommended
