School is terrible, they learn nothing not a good enough school for careers it’s just full of drug ex and fights the meals they get given are absolute garbage shouldn’t have to stay in form time for 20 odd minutes if there not going to eat the food.
good teaching staff and school culture, but management staff is a little stale and are hindering the progress of the school. principal however is very very good at his job.
I moved here in year 13 from a school, to which I will not name, and I had the best time of my life. Awatapu has the most supporting teachers who will answer any of your questions and has the friendliest people I have ever met. Here is where I made my first friends and they are the most supporting, unique and trustworthy people. Thank you Awatapu, I had a great year. :)
From a child with learning difficulties who didn't recieve support and was bullied into making some disastrous choices, to the lack of support for an immune compromised child who has been unable to attend school during covid level increases. This school has consistently been uninspiring and unhelpful. They seem to have forgotten in their push to increase the roll that those numbers are actually human beings who need support to succeed not just more students with the same staff levels and infrastructure.
Great school, very accepting, no social pressure, no bullying, just good vibes and great teachers! Definetly would choose awatapu over any other high school in palmy north
