Gisborne Girls' High School

Very racist and unfair..
The kids are stuck up and they don't listen to kids opinions or when they need help.

i was only at gizzy girls for a little while, but my time spent there was worth while. the teachers were super helpful and the girls in my class were very friendly and supportive towards me. the lunches weren’t always the best but they could always improve on that in the future. to sum it all up i think it’s the best choice of secondary schools in gis.

Gizzy girls is the best option for secondary education is Gisborne, if that doesn’t say something I’m not sure what does. The school has many racist patterns, and disrespect and distrust of students. Year 9 and 10s classes are not streamed and are a waste of 2 years, the english department however is fabulous but the senior management is shocking. The school values are pushed upon students but withheld from the team and they have not taken any feedback or opinions into consideration. all the gates are locked during school and students cannot go to the toilet during class. I think this is outrageous for an all girls school, there is only one new toilet block that gets abused by the disgusting junior school and the other toilet blocks are foul, covered in graffiti and the roofs reflect the toilet stalls so privacy is not guaranteed. The school just needs a new young principle who will do good for the school and listen to the students and not take away their rights and trap them in and treat them like prisoners

I’m not going to lie this school is better then your other options wealth wise in Gisborne purely because I feel safe when taking a piss and we get free lunch. HOWEVER!!! there are many underlying issues such as the racial pattern in prefects and head girls that all students are very aware of, the pattern has been confirmed to us students by multiple teachers we are just waiting for the higher powers of the school to acknowledge there wrong and racist doing and make a change. Another is i face is that as a year 13 I feel incredibly disrespect as the previous year 13s before me had so much freedom yet for some reason *** and her crew don’t trust the year 13’s anymore. We just want a coffee. Also the year 9’s and 10’s are very disrespectful and low key loud and gross, they need to stop pulling the fire alarm before I tie myself a noose. Finally I miss Uncle Laurie, and Mr Calcott deserves a major pay rise for being the coolest dude ever.
