One of the slightly better choices in South Auckland
I would say the teachers and staff are 4-stars. The 3-star rating has something more to do with the the type of kids that attend this place. Most of which seem to have bad parents or parents who just don't care enough to raise them well.
Standard bullying of verbal insults with some physical assaults (slapping behind the head). The school claims that it's because the bullies are "special" children but I feel they're just using that as a cop-out.
But as it is with New Zealand culture; the victim is rarely cared for and for some reason, the assailants are given priority care.
Curriculum is, okay, I suppose. Teachers are switched on enough to care to push the children to get better. However, from a larger point of view, it's still the same NZ way of teaching which is "learn at their pace". Which, I think, no longer has any merit for older children going into teens. If you let them control the pace, then they're just going to not bother at all. They're kids.
