This school is horrendous and taught me nothing except for the fact that some teachers suck and sometimes they have disregard for religion. The only really good thing about it were the counselors, but they weren't the best either and it felt really difficult to talk to them about anything.
The kids act racist and act like they're tough, and they gossip about fake rumours and make fun of people behind their back and occasionally to their face.
The curriculum sucks and it stresses people out if they aren't on that level, and the only thing that they get in return is piled up homework and extreme burnout. This school literally made my anxiety so much worse and I could barely finish assignments by the end of Year 7 without feeling like I was doing something wrong, and let's not mention the end of Year 8.
The teachers are either relatively good or the worst teachers ever, and they start yelling at kids just for acting like kids. I've heard teachers swear at kids before just because they were talking in class, and they always put so much stress on deadlines that it leads to a massive loss of motivation and extreme anxiety.
The only thing getting me through the two years of intermediate here were my friends, because they were normal when the teachers were super two-faced and acted like they cared about kids when only a handful of teachers even cared a little bit.
The drama teacher is nice, so that's been a safe place for me for my second year here, and the drama kids are mostly okay, except for the ones that act like they're too cool to be there despite drama extension literally being an optional class...
Kowhai intermediate I feel has not been very inclusive to everyone as I feel left out and stood on by my teacher. Some of the other teachers like to use provocative language to students as in swearing and name calling.
1.My child has been split into Rm 10 and noticed that the teacher was very bias to the girls and did not let the boys talk and blocks learning websites such as gmail and does not let them change there profile picture. 2. My child has been split into A4 and noticed the teacher yells at the students to do work when they are doing work. 3. my child was in rm three with his friend and heard the teacher say shit and crap, asses reatard. thank you very much
My child gets in trouble for doing his work and his teacher just sit on his seat not doing anything. My child's teacher blocks every site, it's like my child cannot even breathe without getting told off. My child's class cant even go on gmail, cannot change profiles, just cannot do anything in general, he lets the girls get away with everything, the girls can be talking, screaming and he would see my child whispering for 0.2 seconds and he will get told off. - Child's parent
As a parent of two children who went here they have both been bullied and some days would come home crying. Some teachers aren’t the best when it came to helping children that have add, adhd or others on the spectrum- my kids went a few years ago so the school may have been improved but that was our experience.
