look i made friends here i spent a lot of time sifting around this school, loving, arguing, social overhaul etc..but when it came to learning the children just want to arse around the teachers were over it but that wasnt my fault, the naughty/nice ratio is trying at best, you may come out of this some artistic wonder or some lyrical genius but as for maths im 42 years old and my 10 year old laughs at my maths effort -and when i say effort i mean everyone forgot/didnt care about my learning and i didnt realise because i was young and unprepared that I. ME. is the only one who gives a crap whether i fail pass or even understand anything...if you invest all your time in others- you are no thing by yourself. these wont be your mates forever but YOU remain until you dont. and YOU have to deal with that, invest in YOURSELF. my one eternal regret. so its up to you. Are YOU present for your learning?
The dedicated teachers and staff members go above and beyond to ensure that every student receives the support and attention they need to thrive academically and socially. The environment is nurturing and encouraging, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among the students. I'm truly impressed by the commitment to individualized learning and the emphasis on celebrating each student's unique abilities. Logan Park High School's Special Needs Class is a shining example of excellence in special education, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a supportive and enriching educational experience for their loved ones.
I went to Logan Park and although I will admit that it had some flaws I really enjoyed my time here. I think the best attributes of Logan Park are:
1. A relaxed atmosphere
2. Very LGBTQ+ friendly
3. Generally the students and staff are very accepting of alternative people and lifestyles
4. Beautiful native garden and surrounding bush.
5. Year 13 is great as they really relax the rules. You can come and go as you please and there is no uniform.
In order to succeed at this school you do need to be self motivated as teachers do often let kids to fall the gaps because everything is so relaxed.
This school is really good for those interested in art/music/drama. If you love sports and are very competitive then this probably isn’t the place for you as our sports teams are very laid back and chill.
Teachers are absolutely hopeless especially around the math side of things, had my stats teacher walk out almost every lesson and learnt absolutely nothing.
Teachers were not very supportive at all.
Fabric teacher was quite the one to call you out if your body type wasn't up to her standards.
I don't recomend this school as they fuck me over by forcing me into the a horrble class that had kids that were disruptive and nosiey af. lphs also didn't alow me to be in normal class but instead a classroom that had the most amount of social suport teachers just because I have dx autism. I never got a chance to be in normal class with my freinds just because I am autistic, and it gets even wrost as the classroom I was forced in was so lound and disruptive that other classrooms near by notice it
my friend has told me she was able to hear how loud the class was even tho she wasn't in the classroom at the. Thats how fucking bad the class was, and I remeber at least 2 times when my class had to have meeting with all of students and teachers in the class about the behaver prolems the class had and tbh.
The meeting did jackshit as the class contuine to have behaver problems and meanwhile I got very fucking burned out from having to deal with all this shit, and did the school actually tryed to help me at all? FUCK NO! They didn't help me out in the slightest bit
and now one year after having to be in that shitty classroom. I am now in a ableist classroom that is for special needs that couldn't cope in the mainstream classes.
I've learned to never trust lphs as I am now in a situation where even if I want to, I can't goto any classes that don't have social suport teachers just because I am autistic, and if I want to go into the mainstream classes. I will have to be in what remanes of the class I was forced in last year, which I don't trust to be any good
I don't recomend this school as it is highly ableist and arrogant
regret going back at year thirteen wasted potential wasted my future. Teachers cover up their mistakes and wrongs by blaming students all the time all for themselves preference given to rich parents and gay trans by disappointed to have wasted this whole year here they should post the leavers certificates out waste of time even going to the prizegiving. Staff will carry on getting salaries whilst struggling students fall through the cracks.
I dont understand why students need to look professional (cant have peircings or unnatural hair) while teachers/staff/etc get to have peircings and crazy hair colors or very unnatural make-up. Its rather silly to make students the higher priority of looking professional while the adults can run free with whatever.
Useless for year 11 to year thirteen and I have heard this from many other parents in the community as well. hide beneath their insecurities, disriminate against ordinary low income students who try their best, accuse the good families and students of things they have not done nag and nag about truancy, all the while the students are at school. not communicating or LOOKING at their role or where a student maybe, as in they were still at school. Do not care in the slightest about students who struggle academically in the NCEA years , fixated on a student going one direction only hence not allowing personal growth stunting subject choices, favouring rich families, wealth, along with high achievers, whilst excluding those who try very hard and want to succeed taking away all individuality, high focus/praise to Gay, bi trans gender and support of their families whilst showing very little regard for low income ordinary people, demoralising the minority. disgusted in the school.
Good in year nine /ten but after then downhill. If kids struggle they're left behind. Three utterly useless judge mental ***** as*************** all hide behind lies and their own insecurities. Need a tune up for discriminating at risk and invisibly disabled students who try their very best. Disgusted in the drug comments on here but not surprised these are he types of kids that's parents get all he praise and credit.
I have only been at Logan park for 5 or so weeks and I love it do much the other students are great the teachers feel like real people and there are so many great clubs and events for anyone.
Inclusive, kind, and focuses on what matters. Relaxed and unpretentious, and gets excellent academic results including disproportionate numbers of scholarships. Kids learn how to self motivate and have no trouble at all transitioning into University.
