Our eldest child attended Courtyard. At his final review we were given a report on his character and behaviour to pass on to his school. The report given had no representation of who I thought my child was. He simply didn’t fit the mould and was condemned for not doing so. As a first time parent I assumed there was something wrong with him.
I sent him off to school, worried on who he had become.
He has excelled at school. He is now in year 5 and we have two other children who did not attend courtyard, who are also thriving.
While courtyard may instill some good habits, it’s my opinion they squash any spirited child and require they conform - which was the opposite of what we thought would happen when we chose a Montessori preschool
My opinion is that the hierarchy at the school is archaic. If your child is not a diligent scholar, this might not be the place for them.
