Good school to achieve highly in sports and cc. however many teachers can be overly pessimistic and not helpful at keeping you there for your 5 years. very easy for students to have an urge to drop out at school unless praised by staff.
The so called “brotherhood” can be a huge motivation for staying your 5 years at this school as you create lifelong mates during your time as a palmy boy
Great school, Teachers are alright, some of them can get on you're nerves but most of them are great, in terms of education they are a great school if you wanna do well at an academic level. Sports on the other hand is very popular, this school is very conservative so if you're to much of a "softy" then this aint the school for you.
Being the biggest school in Palmy, PNBHS has a lot of things other schools don't, such as facilities, a couple of classes doing the year's work above them etc. However, it's not for everyone, as it can be strict in some areas such as uniform, behavior towards staff, grooming etc. As they like to tell people, if you want your socks down to your ankles go somewhere else. Some teachers can be annoying, and same with some rules, but that's like all schools. Also if you're not going because there are no girls, it's surprising easy to still get a girlfriend out of school. Canteen is pretty good too and the school is right next to Reduced to Clear.
Good school in certain aspects. The ‘traditional’ aspects are a problem in most members of the public’s opinion. The times have changed and the school should too. For example, only seniors are allowed to wear long trousers while the juniors are only allowed to wear shorts even during the winter time.
Pretty good school, hard to get a girlfriend but not impossible. Could be better if some of the teachers were better and weren't complete muppets, although most of them are pretty chill. Overall pretty good school and would recommend going, if you are good at sports, academic or interested in pratical subjects such as woodwork.
Not as great as everyone makes it out to be. "Palmerston North Boys' High School", it just sounds like perfect school for boys in Palmerston North. The music department is probably the only thing about this school that the school has the show for but it gets minimal recognition which I can't stand.
