Systemic bullying overlooked by senior management in denial- who care more about creating an elitist culture and a facade of growing great men.
The reality is they are rather delusional or covering up.
Great place for rich people, if you throw money at the school and sponsor everything then your kid can behave as they like- even with constant stand downs they never get expelled. Or if your kid is amazing at sports and able to handle themselves very well
Unfortunately it's the very stereotypical, old fashioned, over testosterone pumped, toxic male cultured environment with petrified kids too scared to speak up. The boys with all the badges and trophies are the worst

What a waste of money! As a former student they have promised to be a top school. Realistically, they are not. They force students to take part in an after school sport which is very degrading for those who rather wouldn’t. The schools atmosphere is rather strange a lot of staff treat students like 2 year olds and spoon feed them. From my experience there I wouldn’t recommend sending your child there.

Rathkeale College prides its self on creating good rathkeale men but realisticly just spoon feeds 2 year olds for 5 years. their childish attatudes and constant bullying to students doesnt get sorted out what so ever. Their school rugby 1st 15 has a horrible team culture along with parents coaching a 1sts team. The school does nothing about this as they don't like speaking up. i do have to say myself playing in 3 differnt 1sts teams the cricket run by neil perry is amazing so thats probably one positive of the school. a lot of stuff goes in behind the scenes from boy with vaping, alcohol and smoking down in the bushes. constant harassment of international students doesn't help them to enjoy their time here. over all i wouldn't recomend sending your son/sons here and from experences i have had and the way the school deals with this.

Testosterone fest to the highest degree, a school that prides itself on a self perceived reputation of elitism and strong culture. Students are subjected to degrading mannerisms from staff, and the all boys nature of the school means that alpha egos are enabled to run riot. Rathkeale needs to have a serious look in the mirror and recognise it no longer has the status in the community and nationally as perceived by its staff and students. Its academic offerings are comparable to lower decile public schools and students do not receive any of the 'transformational' learning and character building as advertised on its website, which is why increasingly parents are looking at other options to satisfy their children's educational needs.
