I attended te Aroha college for a year and for me it was not a good experience. There is a big problem with vaping even to the extent of students Vaping in class and the teachers just don't notice, there is also another problem with fighting it happens all the time and the students don't get any sort of punishment whatsoever. There was also an incedent where a student was sexually assaulting girls and was reported to the school but nothing was done about it. for me it was hard to get the teachers to help me with my education and the school is just very disorganised and unsafe, there is alot of students walking out of school and skipping classes. I don't recommend this school at all
It's a good school and the best part was smart day. Honestly I would give this a higher rating but I don't want to because we don't have smart day anymore.
Te Aroha college is a great school and they offer great opportunities such as smart day. Smart day was a full day of mufti clothing and different learning enviroments and classes to teach practical life skills, catch up on study for a day, or have an extra class for further academic education. Smart day has been reduced to the last block on a wednesday. We Te Aroha College students aren't too fond on this change of schedule as their mufti day of alternative learning wont be what it was. I think it should be brought back.
