My child was shamed and labeled a ‘bad-Christian’ for asking questions about the bible story they were reading. They don’t teach science, which puts kids at a major disadvantage when they enter secondary school. Refer to people as ‘Christian’s’ and ‘Non-Christian’s’ rather than acknowledging other belief system; and work to create and ‘us vs them’ dichotomy within the school community where all others are wrong and inferior. My child was labeled ‘difficult’ for continually finishing work too quickly and complaining about always being sent to read in the corner — staff made no attempt to provide extension activities.
Westminster is an amazing school! As a former student, I can say that I am 100% glad that my parents sent me here for primary/ intermediate education. Firstly, Westminster feels less like a school and more like a tight knit community. The teachers are professional and cater to students of all abilities, and provide sufficient resources to focus on the individual needs of a student. The teachers and staff are extremely kind, and allow students to really grow and excel both academically and as an individual. But I have to say, Westminster is quite small and the facilities aren’t as top notch as they should be. The sports/extra curricular clubs and activities are quite limited and in all honesty aren’t that great. But besides that I loved my time there, made great friends and learnt so many valuable things!
